I'm not a big fan at all of all the scare mongering used by the media, or rather the owners of the media, life's scary enough but it seems like we are, in the words of the Black Eyed Peas "addicted to the drama". Most finance equities investors and finance "experts" I've spoken with say the dollar is safe, but yes gold is a good hedge. No-one has any great advice on the best way to acquire it or how to store it, and often ask me "where do you put it?". I always resist answering.
When I suggest small gold bullion bars it all gets a bit fuzzy and cross-eyed for them, I guess it's just different for the insiders.
For myself it is very clear and simple, the $25 dollar a month account fee I was being charged with a Chinese bank equates easily to the slight difference in the Karatbars bullion buy price over a month's gold gram purchases, and I write this off as the storage and account fees I would normally pay a regular bank. The difference is that my old regular bank never once paid me back in physical gold, they just magiked some interest out of the air and made ocassional adjustments to my bank ledger.
Free account, free one -time delivery, free storage, free gold back.
Frankly, I don't give a rats ass if I'm missing something, because they are not saying what and because at least now I have an option.
